Qatch Federation of the Dominican Republic was founded

The first national qatch federation, the Qatch Federation of the Dominican Republic was founded on 20 June 2020 with the participation of 11 founding members and was approved as a functioning organisation by the Dominican Ministry of Sports on 22 March 2021.

Despite the situation caused by the pandemic, one of the founding members, Jose Duval, is positive about the future, and has ambitious plans, such as:

• Training physical education teachers
• Training referees
• Involvement of 50 schools in qatch education
• Organizing inter-school championships
• Introducing qatch at universities
• Introducing qatch in the competition of the annual Military Games
